March 2010 offers some great NEW classes to CrossTrain Fitness!

You will enjoy some “old favorites” such as Repeat the Beat and Drums Alive combined with some NEW classes such as Pilates Plus and Step/Interval class!

Our classes are perfect for ALL fitness levels and promise to be motivating and FUN for all ages!

Let 2010 be the year that you kick your fitness routine into HIGH GEAR! Exercise classes can be a great way to add variety and FUN to your fitness routine and help you reach your goals.

January offers some unique new classes for you to enjoy. People of all fitness levels are welcome to take our classes and instructors are trained to help modify for injuries and all fitness levels.

No need to register for our classes…just come when you can!

Winter is here and December offers GREAT exercise classes perfect for any and all fitness levels!

November Classes

Fall is in the air…what a perfect time to put your fitness routine in HIGH gear! Our November fitness classes will offer a great opportunity for you to put something NEW into your routine to ensure that you get super results!

November Class Descriptions:

Burn N Firm- Enjoy deep muscle toning in this class. Burn N Firm offers a low-impact style workout with lots of chair and floor moves combined. This class targets all major muscle groups and is perfect for all fitness levels.

Repeat the Beat- If you like to dance and have a little fun…this class is for you! Shake and shimmy the inches away with this “cardio-style” workout. Each class repeats the same movements to the same music so that you actually learn the moves and improve week after week. Line dances will be emphasized this month – all fitness levels welcome.

Wild Wednesdays- This class will typically meet on the “circuit side” when CrossTrain is closed. It will incorporate the High Intensity Intervals to be sure that you are maximizing your workouts on the circuit. If you like our old style “bootcamps” then you will love this class. Ramp up your fitness level with this type of class – this will also offer a ton of variety for all participants!

Men’s Power Pump- This class is just for men this month. It will offer a variety of formats to overload and build muscles. If you want weight lifting for a total body workout and NO cardio moves, then this class is for you!

Toning Varieties (TV) -This toning class is perfect for the person that needs a low impact class and likes a lot of variety. TV will offer a wide range of different exercises taken from Yoga, Pilates, Stretching, Burn N Firm and more! All fitness levels welcome – bring a mat.

360 Christian Yoga – This Christian-based Yoga class will take place in a heated environment and will combine the elements of quiet meditation with scripture readings. Emphasis on stretching, gaining greater muscle tone, and increased flexibility.

TGIF(Thank God It’s Friday) – This fun class will offer many great aspects of exercise. The instructor will shake things up by offering some cardio, toning, stretching and other varieties of exercise to offer a total body workout.   In this class, you will enjoy a ton of variety in a fun setting!

All fitness classes are included in your membership fee. No need to register for any classes…just come to as many as you can!

October Class Schedule

Fall is in the air and CrossTrain Fitness continues to offer great classes FREE with your membership.  We are offering the same great classes from September but have added a few new times for your convenience.  Please sneak ahead to the last week of October to see our FREE SAMPLE classes. These classes will give you a great chance to TRY out some of our new ideas for November. No need to register…simply come to these classes and give them a TRY!

Class Descriptions:

October 2009 Schedule

Power Pump:This class will offer a variety of formats to OVERLOAD and BUILD muscles. If you want weight lifting for a total body workout and NO cardio moves, then this class is for YOU! This class is great for both MEN and WOMEN of all fitness levels!

Power Toning: This class will be a variety of different toning and stretching moves to tone and sculpt your body. If you like Burn N Firm, Yoga, or Pilates, then you will love this class!  This class will require one to be able to get down on the floor – all fitness levels welcome!

Pilates Plus: The class will be traditional Pilates moves and stretches but will also incorporate some new ways of doing stretches such as using a stability ball for added variety.

Cardio Pump: This class will be High Intensity Intervals of cardio and strength training moves. You will keep your heart rate pumping to  burn the ultimate number of calories! This class can be modified for all fitness levels.

Extreme Circuit: This class will be held on our CIRCUIT when CrossTrain is CLOSED. This class will incorporate the High Intensity Intervals to be sure that you are maximizing your workouts on the circuit. If you liked our old Boot Camps on the circuit, then you will love this class!

Cardio Mix: This class will be a variety of cardio moves to keep your heart pumping in your zone throughout your entire workout. Each class will be different depending on the instructor. Some will be traditional add-on cardio formats, some may be outside and incorporate the Boot Camp Style and some will have a “dance” flare like “Repeat the Beat”.  All formats are guaranteed to make you SWEAT and BURN mega calories while having a BLAST!

*All classes are FREE with your CrossTrain membership! No registration necessary…simply “drop-in” to the classes of your choice and have some fun getting in shape. Classes are subject to change based on attendance and instructor availability.

August Exercise Classes

August offers some fun and NEW exercise classes at CrossTrain Fitness! Our classes are great for ANY fitness level and they are INCLUDED with your membership so you can just come and go as you please!

August 2009-class schedule

August Class Offerings:

Band-O-rama:

This class will be a 50 minute class that will use bands for resistance to overload your muscles. Each class will vary as to what type of bands will be used but you can always count on a fun class with a lot of variety!

Relax & Restore Foam Roller Class:

In this class you will learn to use “foam rollers” for self massage, postural concerns, spinal alignment, body awareness, core strengthening, and stress reduction. This class is an effective venue for de-conditionied populations, avid exercisers, and the results are immediate!

Yogilates:

This amazing program will offer a combination of Pilates exercises that will strengthen abdominals and back muscles, as well as Yoga poses to improve range of motion. Yogilates offers the perfect combination of core strength, flexibility and peaceful focus.  Class will include scripture and/or time for quiet reflection which will bring focus to our Heavenly Father.

Tabata Interval Training:

Join this HIGH INTENSITY class that only lasts for 30 minutes! This workout offers an interval training cycle of 20 seconds of maximum intensity exercise , followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated without pause 8 times  for a total of 4 minutes.  You will “keep score” to ensure that you can see your improvement during the session.  Tabata is for any fitness level as you simply see how many you can do each and every time.  Get a great workout in only 30 minutes!

June Class Schedule

JUNE Class Offerings:

Power Pump- This class will be a variety of formats to overload and build muscles. If you want weight lifting for a total body workout and NO cardio moves, then this class is for you! This class is great for MEN & WOMEN of all fitness levels.

Bootcamp - The Bootcamp workout is a fast-paced military style interval training class that incorporates calisthenics such as push-ups, jumping jacks, sit-ups, running drills, and football style drills. Alternating quickly between movements helps to burn calories and fat faster. This method is the most efficient way to increase the intensity of your workouts and still have fun doing it! The environment is designed to keep you going even when you are ready to give up. You are sure to push yourself to your MAX! This class is not recommended for beginners.

Burn-N-Firm- This class was designed by Deb Finnestad, one of CrossTrain’s owners! This class offers a total body sculpting workout and offers deep muscle toning too. You will use all major muscle groups as you tone and tighten your body. This class is perfect for all fitness levels!

Body & Soul- This class will offer a combination of stretching techniques that will strengthen abdominal muscles, back muscles and work on range of motion too! This will give you a chance to slow down your brain and body and work on calming the body while working on breathing and flexibility. This class is a perfect calss for quiet reflection and focus on our Heavenly Father. A sticky yoga mat is recommended…all fitness levels welcome!

Moovin’ & Groovin- If you like to dance and be a little SASSY…this class is for you! Shake and shimmy the inches away! Each class will be slightly different and will have steps from past classes that you may have done before in Repeat the Beat, Soulsweat, or Line Dancing…once you get the hang of it…you’ll be ready to dance and sweat at the same time. Don’t worry if you haven’t done these classes before…all are welcome.

Walking 101- Learn the fundamentals of walking…yes, there is a right way and a wrong way and we want to teach you the RIGHT way to walk toward optimim health. Our goal is to help you increase your endurance so you will successfully complete a 5K (3.2 miles) at the conclusion of this 8-week course. This is not a progressive class…you can drop in anytime. This class will be held off-site at Crestbrook Park in Ankeny.

On Core 10 - This class is back by popular demand. Get minutes of “hard core” work with this 10 minute BURST offered at the end of most exercise classes. All welcome at this one!
